searching for land

my first idea was to look on craigslist and find people in the farm category who were selling tractors.

naively, i thought I could design a mental model for finding the land owners I needed

i found a few people farming hay with 30-60 acres but none were seriously interested

before even looking for land, i had a deep knowing that the farm would be in New Paltz, something spoke to me about this area

i knew that i would need to move upstate. after renting an apartment in Ellenville, i thought I would go to New Paltz with my electric unicycle and meet people with land. i found a bike path that went out of town and followed it

for some reason, i rode directly to Gopal Farm‘s neighbor who suggested I head over to them

memories of the years of my early adulthood rushing back as i pull up to the farm hearing “hare krishna, hare krishna, krishna krishna hare hare..” coming from a nightlight-like automata plugged in on the front porch

I smiled, I knew this would be the most ideal place I could ever be to spend time meditating and doing yoga with my crops.

I met a man working on the farm and got in touch with the President, Nimai.

Nimai and i have been in touch since and i have been offered to rent a plot of land and be a part of his farm incubator program

it amazes me that I only had to search for 15 minutes and i found everything i needed

its another reminder of the right path, how things fall into place, how it’s often a journey of the heart, not just of the mind
